Dimmitt Automotive Group and International Diamond Center hosted the annual Carats & Cars event a few weeks ago. Dimmitt Automotive Group and International Diamond Center invited their top clients to browse exclusive cars and jewelry while enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres. The Rolls-Royce Dawn took center stage in the showroom. International Diamond Center showcased pieces worn by celebrities and allowed guests to try them on. Car Week in Monterey, California is the pinnacle of car shows. This year, Dimmitt Automotive Group participated with several vehicles including an Aston Martin One-77, One of One Twilight Edition Rolls-Royce Dawn, McLaren 650S and more. A few of the highlights of the week included Quail and The Pebble Beach Concours. Both of these shows featured some of the most exclusive and expensive cars in existence. The manufacturers hosted receptions in the evenings for valued clients and prospective clients. Several representatives from Dimmitt Automotive Group met new clients and reunited with past clients. This past weekend, McLaren Tampa Bay showcased the 570S at SRQ Caffeine and Gasoline at Phillippi Estate Park in Sarasota, Florida. SRQ Caffeine and Gasoline is a monthly car show that features everything from classic cars to the newest exotic cars. McLaren Tampa Bay showcased the McLaren 570S along side several other privately owned McLaren's. Corsa America Rally owner and several members made an appearance along with several Ferrari Club members. Thank you to everyone who attended the SRQ Caffeine and Gasoline car show. Thank you to everyone who attended the May Cars & Coffee Afterparty! During our Magic in May event, guests enjoyed a light breakfast and entertainment from local magicians. The three magicians wore 3 different colored shirts and competed for a monetary prize which was decided by the audience's vote. At the end of the event, the votes were counted and the prize was awarded to the magician in the black shirt. Cars & Coffee is a car show that takes place every third Saturday of each month from 7am until 9am at DuPont Registry. Dimmitt Automotive Group hosts the Cars & Coffee Afterparty from 8:30am-11am. This past weekend was The Spirit of the Automobile in Daytona Beach, Florida. Dimmitt Automotive Group, home to McLaren Tampa Bay, showcased the new McLaren 570S during the Friday night cocktail reception and Saturday car show. The Spirit of the Automobile car show features hundreds of muscle cars, classic cars and even some exotic cars. McLaren Tampa Bay showcased a 2016 McLaren 570S in Blade Silver with a leather interior. TRG Aston Martin Racing at the St Pete Grand Prix, hosted by Dimmitt Automotive Group Last month, TRG Aston Martin Racing Team competed at the St Pete Grand Prix. Dimmitt Automotive Group, home to Aston Martin Tampa Bay, hosted a Thursday night kickoff party in the Aston Martin showroom. TRG Aston Martin Racing showcased a V8 Vantage RaceCar as well as some Adobe Road Wine which is also owned by Kevin Buckler. The Dimmitt family has built generations of loyal customers and employees throughout the central gulf coast area. It all started in Savannah, Georgia, in the early 1900's. It was then that the late Larry Dimmitt, Sr. joined the automobile business, selling and servicing the Peerless car. Prior to this, Mr. Dimmitt had pursued two other careers in the lumber business, and in the railroad business. He was in the "Klondike Gold Rush" before the turn of the century. Before coming to Clearwater in the early 1920's, he had been associated with the Liberty car and the White truck. Mr. Dimmitt was also the Buick distributor in the Georgia area, and supplied 16 dealers. After settling in Clearwater in 1924, Mr. Dimmitt purchased a Ford dealership. He handled Ford and Lincoln until 1933, when he took over sales and servicing of Chevrolet, Cadillac, and LaSalle. The Dimmitt Organization grew as Clearwater expanded, and in 1952, Larry Dimmitt, Jr (second generation dealer) took over from his father. In 1965, a separate dealership facility was provided for Cadillacs while the Chevrolet dealership prospered at the original location. In 1976, Richard Roth Dimmitt Purchased the Cadillac franchise from his father and became the 3rd generation dealer/operator. In 1986, the Cadillac dealership relocated to its site in Countryside. Range Rover (now Land Rover), the luxury British four-wheel drive sports utility vehicle, joined our Cadillac store in 1987 as the exclusive Florida West Coast franchise and one of only 25 charter Land Rover retailers nationwide. A decade later the most prestigious of Marques, Rolls-Royce/Bentley was added to the family. In August 2000, Lotus Motor Cars joined the Dimmitt Family of luxury performance automobiles and in November 2006 Saab also joined the Dimmitt Family. Mr. Dimmitt has an area network of dealerships spanning from Crystal River in the north to St. Petersburg. He has won numerous “Master Dealer” awards for his locations as well as received copious amounts of community recognition and awards. Being a member of one of the few original Clearwater (local) families, Mr. Dimmitt prides himself in reaching out to the local community in all of his efforts.
