Dimmitt Automotive Group

Last week, Dimmitt Automotive Group associates volunteered in a Special Olympics basketball competition in Clearwater, Florida. “Improving the quality of life for our community,” is part of our mission statement and volunteering with the Special Olympics is a rewarding opportunity.

The Dimmitt Automotive Group associates enjoyed spending the day with inspiring children and young adults. Every associate has a unique story from their experience. Our Brand Development Executive, Tom McQueen, said he will never forget when Kaitlyn, a young teenager in the basketball competition, looked him in the eye and said “Thank you for being here today.”

Dimmitt Automotive Group would like to extend a thank you to the Special Olympics organization and all who volunteer with it. Associates in the photo: Joe Lenz, Gregory Learn, Rick Zagata, Bruni Flores, Michelle Adkins, Charles Mungovan, Becky Costis, Angela Burke, and Andreas Bousdoukos.

Life can change in a matter of seconds. Meet our friend Ian from Tarpon Springs, Florida. Ian suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in an ATV accident. After spending 22 days in a coma, his family was told he was not going to survive his injuries. Ian was determined to prove the doctors wrong.

After 7 months in different hospitals and 10 surgeries, Ian began to regain his senses. He had to relearn the most common tasks such as breathing, drinking, and talking. His recovery has been nothing short of remarkable thanks to his strength and his parents and doctors support.

When his mother emailed us explaining that Ian’s dream was to sit in a McLaren, we invited him and his family to our Pinellas Park Showroom. Our associates welcomed Ian and his family with open arms and provided him with a truly memorable day. Our McLaren sales manager, Matthew Jones, took Ian for a ride in a 12C [see photo above]. Ian’s dream had been turned into reality and the smile on his face only proved that!!

From all of us at Dimmitt Automotive Group, we wish Ian the best in his road to recovery and healing. Come see us again soon!

IMG959065In the month of December, Dimmitt Automotive Group held a special promotion that benefitted the Pinellas Park Toys For Tots foundation. For every Cadillac purchased or leased, Dimmitt Automotive Group pledged to donate a child’s bike in the name of the guest that purchased or leased the car.

Within just a few weeks, many children’s bikes filled the Cadillac showrooms. The final count of bikes to be donated was 74!! 40 bikes were donated on behalf of a Cadillac customer while 34 were donated from individual employees and their families. Very incredible feat from some very generous people!

When Don Miley, our Cadillac Sales Manager, called Ron, the local Toys For Tots coordinator, the total number of bikes to be donated took Ron by surprise. Ron was hoping we would reach 20 bikes, but thanks to our generous guests and associates, the number was far exceeded! Thank you everyone who was involved in making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate as well as the Toys For Tots volunteers who made it all possible.
