The Dimmitt Automotive Group was proud to be a part of the Inaugural Fundrasier for the Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation. Held at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort in Naples, Florida, the foundation’s inaugural event raised money to support patients who need financial assistance while undergoing treatment. Guests were treated to a night at the “Rio Carnival,” where colorful, cocktail attire was worn and beautiful music was provided by Billy Dean & Dawn. Cocktails, delicious cuisine, and silent luxury auction greeted guests as they entered the ballroom. The foundation allows those fighting their battle with cancer to concentrate on recovery rather than their overdue rent, mortgage, electric, or water bill.
The McLaren MP4-12C, among other cars, was on display for guests to view. The Naples Performing Arts Center and International Productions by Tahja provided live entertainment and performances throughout the night.

The Firefly Gala 2014
On Saturday, March 25th, The Fire Fly Gala was held at the Sarasota Ritz-Carlton. Featuring music by the GoGo’s, an exclusive silent auction and irresistible cuisine, guests are sure to return for years to come. The Gala was held to benefit the Forty Carrots Family Center in Sarasota.
The Forty Carrots Family Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families through educational programs for parents, children and professionals in the field.
Forty Carrots Family Center has four components:
- A community outreach Parenting Program On Wheels
- A comprehensive Parenting Center
- A nationally-accredited Preschool
- Professional Development and Training Opportunities
The Forty Carrots Agency has helped over 1,800 families since it was founded. The 4th annual Fire Fly Gala was presented by the Dart Foundation and raised a total of $220,000. Dimmitt Automotive Group would like to thank everyone who is involved with this event.

Rotary Club of Belleair: Wine & Tapas
On Saturday, March 27th, 2014, Dimmitt Automotive Group proudly sponsored the signature event for the Rotary Club of Belleair: Wine & Tapas. This event takes place every year to raise money for the many charities supported by the Rotary Club.
This year, guests enjoyed Fine Wine tastings sponsored by Luekens Liquors and tapas from Bonefish Grill, O’Keefe’s Restaurant, Belleair Country Club and the Pie Factory. There was a raffle, silent auction, 50/50, Casino and entertainment provided by Erica DiCeglie.
Guests enjoyed time with friends and family while tasting morsels of great food and sips of delicious wine. The tickets they purchased for the event support local, national, and international organizations.
The Rotary Club has made it their mission to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

Savings Lives One Pint at a Time
Tom Hassel donates blood during the Dimmitt blood drive.
On Friday, March 14th, a blood drive was held at Dimmitt Automotive Group in Clearwater, Florida. Employees volunteered to donate blood which will help a variety of people in the local area.
The human body contains 10-12 pints of blood. During donation, 1 pint of blood is taken. From registration to completion of the donation, the process takes about an hour. Red blood cells, platelets, and plasma are in the donated blood. After the donation is processed, the blood is separated into the three components and has the ability to save three different lives.
The service of OneBlood includes the Tampa Bay area, and surrounding Florida counties. OneBlood currently serves more than 200 hospitals and health care facilities. Wedges for Wishes 2014
On February 24th, the 5th annual Wedges for Wishes golf tournament was held at the Avila Golf & Country Club in Tampa. The event raised $80,000, which will provide 11+ heart-felt wishes for local children who are dealing with a life-threatening medical condition. The event included a breakfast, lunch, player gifts and even prizes for the top 3 teams. The hole in one prize was a Bentley GT.

Clearwater For Youth
The 41st Annual Clearwater For Youth Celebrity Banquet was held on February 22, 2014 at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater, Florida. The Clearwater for Youth Foundation provides scholarships and grants for kids in the Tampa Bay area. This event is the organization’s original major fund-raising event and one of the longest active annual events in the area.
Over 300 guests supported the star-studded evening, including players and staff from the Rays, Phillies and Blue Jays. Phillies GM , Ruben Amaro, Jr. and Phillies 3rd baseman Cody Asche and pitcher, Jonathan Pettibone, along with local CCC graduate and Orioles pitcher, Ryan Webb were in attendance. Ducky Goes to the Oscars
On Friday, February 21st, “Ducky Goes to the Oscars” was held at The Club on Treasure Island. In it’s 9th annual year, this event raised a few thousand dollars for the All Children’s Hospital Guild Beach Branch. This year, the event featured a red carpet entrance, silent auctions and a lively dance floor.
Dimmitt Automotive Group is proud to support this great cause. Kathleen Doyle-Gibson, an associates from Dimmitt Cadillac in St Pete, has represented Dimmitt Automotive at the event for many years. The 2014 Cadillac CTS provided the perfect backdrop for the event.

Cure on the Runway
On February 12th, the Sarasota Women’s Cancer Awareness Luncheon “Cure on the Runway” took place. Lunch was held at the Rectrix Aerodrome and was complemented by a Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show. With over 400 attendants, this event was a huge success. Cancer patients, researchers and cancer survivors spoke at the event. Dimmitt Automotive Group donated a chauffeured evening in a Rolls-Royce which raised almost $1,000. All proceeds from the event benefit the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Cars for the Cure 2014
The 10th Annual “Cars for the Cure” Heathrow automotive festival was held the weekend of February 8th, 2014. The event was hosted by The American Lung Association at the beautiful Colonial TownPark in Lake Mary, Florida. This year, the weather did not cooperate as planned.
Owners and enthusiasts drove from all over the state to enjoy viewing some great automobiles. Dimmitt Automotive Group was a proud sponsor of the event. We would like to thank all who participated and donated for their efforts to support the American Lung Association.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo Fundraiser
Last week, Dimmitt Automotive Group held a party and fundraiser for Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. The jungled theme event was held in the Rolls-Royce showroom and featured several unique animals. The Lowry Park Zoo brought everything ranging from an Alligator to a Mexican Redknee Tarantula. Food and drink was prepared by Puff’n Stuff Catering.
The Lowry Park Zoo features a natural outdoor exhibits for more than 1,500 animals from Florida and similar habitats. That includes Native Florida Wildlife Center and manatee hospital, Asian Gardens, Primate World, Free-Flight Aviaries, Wallaroo Station children’s zoo, and Safari Africa. The Zoo also features rides, shows and hands-on interactive exhibits designed to give you a wild experience.
