2018-Audi-R8-Multi-Car

First introduced in 2006, the Audi R8 has thrilled drivers for over 12 years with its sexy, mid-engine designs, heart-pounding acceleration, and responsive Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. For 2018, the R8 2-door Coupe and convertible 2-door Spyder carry the banner for this flagship supercar of the German automaker. No other production car made by Audi has even been as fast or powerful.

New features for the R8 for 2018 include standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You can now purchase an R8 with laser LED headlights and a hot new Black Optics package with 20” alloy wheels, gloss black tips for the exhaust, and Titanium Black trim accents that provide a distinctive contemporary look.

This is a car built for adrenaline junkies who are not ashamed of who they are or what they’ve achieved. It is a reward for those who both work hard and play hard, and for those committed to getting the most out of life.

It Looks FAST

Even when parked in a driveway or sitting on a tarmac, the Audi R8 for 2018 just looks fast. Perhaps it’s a combination of its low profile design, forward, racing style cockpit and sculpted appearance. Maybe it’s the large air inlets, vertical inlets and a single-frame grille along with a rear diffuser and rear ventilation screen for the engine compartment that combines to manage air in, through, and around the R8. It just may be all of the above.

It IS Fast

2018-Audi-R8-Steering

The 2018 Audi R8 comes with a 5.2-liter V-10 engine combined with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This will generate 540hp and 398 lb-ft of torque in the R8 V10 and 610hp with 413 lb-ft torque with the R8 V10 Plus. The R8 Coupe V10 Plus will accelerate from 0-60 in an efficient 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of about 205 mph. The Spyder hits the 60 mph mark in 3.3 seconds with a slightly lower top speed of 203 mph. This is a nimble car that is light on its feet. It makes use of Audi’s “Space Frame” construction that employs a variety of strong, yet lightweight materials. The Coupe, for example, has a dry weight of just 3,260 lbs. The Spyder, weighing in a bit heavier than the Coupe, has a lightweight soft convertible top that stretches tautly as to minimize its effect on performance. It hides neatly away in a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer covered compartment when not in use. The top can put up or down in about 20 seconds, even at vehicle speeds of 30 mph.

This is a car designed for the driver with all critical controls placed conveniently on the leather covered steering wheel. The wrap-around design of the cockpit allows those behind the wheel to keep their eyes on the road ahead. A 12.3 inch TFT monitor serves as a virtual cockpit, allowing the driver to select from a variety of driving-related details like lap times, tire and oil temperatures, a tachometer and even g-forces. A Bang & Olufsen sound system with headset located speakers adds to the soundtrack for your ride in this exceptional sports car.
