Festivals of Speed St. Petersburg

Dimmitt Automotive Group was a proud sponsor this past Sunday of the Festivals of Speed St. Petersburg, an annual exotic car show that raised money for a great cause. Attendees combatted the warm weather with wine bars and ice-cold beverages provided by Festivals of Speed. While engaging music played over park-wide speakers, they perused the stunning lineup of exotic and classic cars, including Dimmitt’s own lines from Bentley, Rolls-Royce, McLaren, and more. And for those willing to purchase a VIP ticket, or who managed to do so before they sold out, Dimmitt Automotive rolled out the red carpet and the Aston Martins to provide attendees with a true luxury treatment. Vinoy Park provided truly stunning waterfront views as a backdrop for the area’s most unique vehicles. Classics, exotics, supercars and even a few surprises lined up to for the exhibition. Participants competed for an array of awards presented with sculpted trophies.

Benefitting Our Four-Legged Friends

The cars may have owned the day, but the fun was all in the name of a great cause. The organizers of Festivals of Speed St. Petersburg chose to sponsor Friends of Strays as the event’s beneficiary. Friends of Strays is a 501(c)3 charity formed in 1978 that provides shelter to and advocacy for the stray cats and dogs of the community. They maintain a no-kill shelter which provides care to homeless animals as long as it takes until the cat or dog can find a forever home. Thank you to everyone who came out over the weekend and made the Festivals of St. Petersburg such a great success! We can’t wait for next year!

2019 Vintage Motor Classic

It was the perfect day for a car show. Visitors gathered Sunday, November 10 to enjoy a stunning display of vintage and classic vehicles on the waterfront of St. Petersburg. Hosted by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the annual Vintage Motor Classic did not disappoint. Dimmitt Automotive Group was a proud sponsor of the event. Grouped by era and by origin, the vehicles on the lawn of the yacht club could have driven right out of a classic film. Domestics and exotics alike impressed onlookers. Judges remarked to one another on the owners’ attention to detail. [gallery size="full" ids="307346,307347,307345"] All for Some Great Causes But the day wasn’t just about the vehicles. The annual Vintage Motor Classic is also one of the yacht club’s most popular fundraising events. While the crowd enjoyed the fair weather and the gorgeous display, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club sold tickets and t-shirts in an effort to raise funds for their supported charities, Pet Pal Animal Shelter and Music Sweet Music. [gallery size="full" columns="2" ids="307343,307342"] Pet Pal Animal Shelter Located in St. Petersburg, Pet Pal Animal Shelter (formerly known as “Pet Pal Rescue”) was founded by two driven women who wanted to decrease the number of animals being euthanized due to overpopulation and neglect. Pet Pal has grown from a two-women operation to a multi-tier organization and expanded to include a veterinary clinic and thrift store. And while they’ve grown to meet the needs of an overpopulated pet population, the organization has stayed true to their mission. Pet Pal Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter which will only euthanize an animal in the event of terminal illness or uncorrectable aggression.
