All-New 2020 Aston Martin DBX

When one thinks of Aston Martin, one may conjure visions of James Bond, road rallies and quick, smaller performance cars turning nimbly along a racecourse. One certainly doesn't envision a lifted, five-door SUV with off-road and towing capabilities. Soon, that may begin to change as Aston Martin prepares to unleash its first-ever SUV, the 2020 Aston Martin DBX. It has taken just a bit for Aston Martin to join the tsunami of automakers entering the SUV market. Of course, they placed some challenging objectives in their own path. They chose to maintain the same standards engineered into their iconic performance cars. They focused on reaching higher levels of real-world off-road and towing capabilities. They were also keenly aware the DBX would be an SUV intended for use as upscale family transportation. To these ends, the 2020 Aston Martin DBX has been tested on the limitless speeds of the Autobahn and in the heat of the desert of the Middle East. It has been exposed to the Arctic air and Alpine passes. It is just possible it soon could be ready for a cul-de-sac near you. The 2020 Aston Martin DBX keeps the brand's trademark oblong grill, although now in front of a larger, taller, lifted vehicle with five doors and room for at least four inside. The DBX shares a platform with the DB11 and is engineered with an all aluminum body. A dovetail spoiler serves as the SUV's punctuation mark. Coming or going, this is a vehicle with a distinct Aston Martin personality. In-between, it raises eyebrows. While the brand is being understandably coy with the details, the interior of the 2020 Aston Martin DBX will most certainly contain natural wood appointments, real metal trim, and fine leather. One can expect the latest in technological comforts as well. Fueled by a Mercedes-AMG V-8 engine, its power has been estimated to be upwards to 700 hp. This is not an SUV that will under perform in any area. Aston Martin has been referred to as a boutique automaker, producing just over 4,000 vehicles annually. The DBX is expected to help take the brand to the next level, where ultimately Aston Martin will be producing only fully electric vehicles. While the journey still has a way to go, the 2020 DBX is an exciting step along the path. 2019 Aston Martin Rapide E

After making its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show, the 2020 Aston Martin Rapide E has dominated automotive-related conversations especially when it comes to electric cars. Expectations are high as the automaker has promised its Rapide E will mimic the feel and character of the Rapide AMR. It certainly has the style and performance to earn its Aston Martin pedigree. This is an automobile for a chosen few, those who want to own a part - and be a part - of automotive history. Redefining Power The 2020 Aston Martin Rapide E redefines power for the iconic automaker. There is no engine, gearbox, exhaust system or fuel tank. Instead, 5600 ion cells are packed in a carbon-fiber Kevlar producing 65kWh of power. Its two rear electric motors produce 700 lb-ft of torque and 449kW. That converts to 602 hp of mechanical power. This is actually six more horsepower and 236 more lb-ft of torque than the Rapide AMR. The Rapide E can accelerate from zero to 60 in 3.9 seconds (or less) and has a top speed of 155mph. This acceleration and speed without the roar of an Aston Martin engine is both thrilling and a bit surreal. It has a range of nearly 200 miles between charges, with a high-power onboard charger completing the job in about three hours. Wind Shredding Exterior Styling With no engine to cool, Aston Martin designers and engineers were free to create an automobile that would slice through the air, as opposed to manipulating it. This has resulted in a stylish new front end treatment and sleek design. A larger rear diffuser results from the Rapide E's lack of an exhaust system and redesigned underfloor. Forged aluminum wheels add to the aerodynamics of the Rapide E. Informative Tech Keeps You Connected Inside the 2020 Rapide E keeps you informed and connected with a 10” digital screen that shares details of your Aston Martin's performance. Easily and conveniently monitor the state of the battery's charge, real-time energy consumption, and motor power levels. The cabin features the luxury amenities you would expect from Aston Martin including liberal use of carbon fiber trim. The Rapide E also features remote monitoring. The First of a New Generation The Aston Martin Rapide E represents the first of the British sportscar maker's new generation of electric vehicles. It begins the move to the brand's goal of moving to all electrified vehicles by 2025. It is also the first Aston Martin to be produced at the company's new state-of-the-art St. Athan plant in Wales. Production of the Aston Martin Rapide E is extremely limited and will be available for a chosen few. It is a rare opportunity to play a role in the automotive history of a legendary brand. 2019 Aston Martin Vantage V8

Perhaps no single word has been used more often to describe Aston Martin automobiles through the years than the word “elegant." Not elegant as in fragile or dainty, but elegant as in beautiful inside and out. Some brands own speed and power. Others are almost hedonistic in their luxury. Yet, the Aston Martin remains elegant. This trait continues with the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage. Unlike the grand tourer DB11, this is an Aston Martin that is like a bodybuilder in a crisp, finely crafted suit. This is a sports car that exudes confidence even when at rest. In motion, it is a moving piece of art. The Vantage V8 – A Change of Guard For 2019, the Aston Martin Vantage is built from the ground up, including a new power plant. The previously naturally aspirated V8 has been replaced with a twin-turbo 4 liter V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG. This improves power in the 2019 Vantage from 430 hp with the previous engine to 503 hp with the new twin-turbo. Torque increases as well, going from 361 lb-ft to 505 lb-ft. With a light-on-its-feet dry curb weight of about 3,375 lbs., the Vantage jets from zero to 60 in a just 3.5 seconds. A ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox comes with stationary paddle shifters. This is the first time the automaker has used an electronic differential at the rear transaxle. Boldly Understated Aston Martin's designers and engineers have built a sports car that can best be described as both bold and yet understated. There is the traditional Aston shaped titanium front grille and dramatic side sills. LED headlamps are minimized to help make room for 20” wheels that still don't appear to be over-sized. Powerful shoulders sweep the air aside and over the rear diffuser and tail, creating a dynamic and functional appearance. Deep sills along the side panels add an almost blade-like effect. Cleared for Take-Off The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage has a carefully crafted, cockpit-style interior. It is functional and detailed with elements like top-stitched leather armrests. It is straight-forward with a start-stop button centrally placed to ignite its powerful engine. But what's most appealing about the 2019 Aston Martin's Vantage interior is that it is where enjoying this fine sportscar really begins. Here, you can enjoy the rumble of its twin-turbo engine and where you will be pushed back into its racing style seating. It is where you may discover the definition of Aston Martin elegance.
