There are some familiar engine choices for the 2019 Range Rover, including a choice of a supercharged 3.0-liter gas V-6 engine, a turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 version and a supercharged 5.0-liter gas V-8. Each model is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission along with permanent four-wheel drive. The V-8 edition is also available in a long-wheelbase edition, adding just over seven inches to rear legroom.
What’s New
The biggest news is that for 2019 the Range Rover adds its first plug-in hybrid, the HSE P400e. This plug-in edition will travel up to 31 miles in electric-only mode. It boasts a lithium-ion battery that recharges on a 220-volt charger in under three hours. A traditional 110-v outlet will take about 7.5 hours to recharge the battery. The 2019 Range Rover P400e comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. When combined, the engine and electric motor produce just under 400 (398) hp.
More subtle improvements for 2019 include new LED headlights and a better adaptive braking system designed to stop the vehicle in traffic.
