Perhaps no single word has been used more often to describe Aston Martin automobiles through the years than the word “elegant.” Not elegant as in fragile or dainty, but elegant as in beautiful inside and out. The Vantage V8 – A Change of Guard
For 2019, the Aston Martin Vantage is built from the ground up, including a new power plant. The previously naturally aspirated V8 has been replaced with a twin-turbo 4 liter V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG. This improves power in the 2019 Vantage from 430 hp with the previous engine to 503 hp with the new twin-turbo. Torque increases as well, going from 361 lb-ft to 505 lb-ft.
With a light-on-its-feet dry curb weight of about 3,375 lbs., the Vantage jets from zero to 60 in a just 3.5 seconds. A ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox comes with stationary paddle shifters. This is the first time the automaker has used an electronic differential at the rear transaxle.
Boldly Understated
Aston Martin’s designers and engineers have built a sports car that can best be described as both bold and yet understated. There is the traditional Aston shaped titanium front grille and dramatic side sills. LED headlamps are minimized to help make room for 20” wheels that still don’t appear to be over-sized. Powerful shoulders sweep the air aside and over the rear diffuser and tail, creating a dynamic and functional appearance. Deep sills along the side panels add an almost blade-like effect.
Cleared for Take-Off
The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage has a carefully crafted, cockpit-style interior. It is functional and detailed with elements like top-stitched leather armrests.
